This is a very informative article. This is true in many ways. First, the worlds and the nations state of global warming is at a cross roads. If Americans don't take action now to help conserve this environment or we could let it die slowly and end up having to leave this planet. It's not bad enough to become an emergency but it is getting worse. This is a growing problem in the U.S. Simple changes can save thousands of resources. Taking five minute showers or turning off the lights when you go out can end up really making a change in the global warming.
This article really brought me up to speed with global warming. I agree with UCS! It is time to take charge with global warming! I agree with Chloe where she says that if we keep this up, we (the human race,) may have to leave this planet! I think that would be the last resort, but it is still a terrible idea. It would be terrible to move to one planet, then pollute it, and then move on. I think we should all work together to not use as much energy in classrooms. When our laptops are finished charging, we need to check. We should not let them keep charging when they are already fully charged, because this is bad for the environment, and it's not good for your computer, either.
This article brought my mind back to our problem with global warming. It is true that little holes are starting to appear our world's atmosphere. If we don't stop this, many people will move or "migrate" to places that are not to cold (because of ice floor and glaciers breaking apart) and not to hot (so they can get water). An idea to stop this is to change the DNA of trees so they can be taller. I think this will help because trees take in carbon dioxide (this is my own thinking). So if you put lots of them in front of factories, they might capture some of the carbon dioxide that is being released in to the air. If you really are interested in this subject, watch the movie 2100. They predict what America will be in the future in terms of weather. In 2080, they say New York will be the leading state in America. They also predict Greenland will melt because of the fierce temperatures.
I think humans are treating the environment horribly. There are so many hypocrites who say that we should be eco-friendly but then they buy a big plastic pack of plastic water bottles with plastic caps and then they throw them away. Then that plastic goes into the huge waste dumps and eventually circulates in the ocean. If we want to save the environment, we have to act NOW.
It is true that we should be taking more action and try and help global warming. There are so many ways that we can help the earth. It is getting worse. I agree with Ava that if we leave this planet it would be terrible, to pollute a planet then move on to the next one. We can't just trash the universe like that. I hope people see articles like this and start to take action and change there ways. This article had many good facts about global warming and is a good reminder that we can't keep treating earth this way.
Ya. I so agree with Ava and Chloe. I don't think that we will need to leave the planet. But it is a possibility. When you go into another room, turn of the lights if you are not going back into that room. Don't waste water either. You should surely try to take short showers. 2-5 minute showers would be best. At my sleep away camp we only were allowed to take 2 minute showers. You guys might think it's unfair, but it's not. Even though the camp was on a island, it's best not to waste water. Plus you should also recycle and plant new trees for oxygen. If you are done using the computer, turn it off. That also goes to every other electronic device that you use, when your done. I will keep on hoping that we can make a difference.
Oh and you should maybe try to work by candle light. Thats what I'm doing right now. I'm not joking. I am a very earthy person, but probably not as earthy as Ava. My mom and I have started recycling and bring it in on Fridays to school. You should really try it too. It makes a difference. Also instead of buying bottled waters, you should maybe just buy the big jugs and have reusable bottles to fill it up with water. Even better, you should get those water filter things that when you put in tap water, it filters out all the bad things in the water so you can it. Also at school when you get hot lunch and you get those plastic bottles waters, you shouldn't put it in the trash, you should recycle it. I do recycling on LEAP and I found six plastic bottles in the trash can. I had to dig them out of the trash. I was brave, but it was gross. I also found a lot of bottles with water in them still. You should try to finish drinking the water. If you can't finish the bottle, save the water and keep it in your locker. Reuse, reduce, recycle! Stick to those three rules people!
Talking about global warming, the United States contains 5% of the population but takes 25% of the yearly oil use of the world. Global Warming is a big part of the world's economy. Without oil, tons of jobs will be lost and entire countries in the middle east would have to default thus making the entire world fall into chaos.
I do think that global warming is a HUGE issue on this planet. If it keeps going, in 2100, all the plants will die from lack of sunlight, and people will die because there will be no oxygen, so...

Sorry about my last post title. Accident.
