This can not be good. It seems more like an invention for evil. Being able to steal anything or access confidential information is terrible.

What a thought, to stop time for a moment. Yes, I too love Harry Potter invisibility cloak. But what if they could stop time for someone who is sick until a cure is found, or stop time for many other reasons....to ultimately improve a situation. Of course this could be used for bad applications, like any development. But, I think it would be a fascinating area of research and it seems to me there could be great uses for it in many different areas of science.

This was a very useable topic. As Luca said, this could be used for antagonistic purposes. If we already have thought this out, and it seems plausible, that is great for them, "Yay, we figured it out!" but what if it doesn't work? What if it creates a gap in space, and we are trapped in an everlasting black hole? To think, they could have stopped time right now, and we would have never known it. This could also be used for good purposes, such as being able to stall an attack on our forces, (Semper fideles!) and we could be able to have a working counter-attack. Also, would we be able to send someone into this gap of time to be able to do something? Maybe send them into the gap, while they keep the gap going, and they could perform some act. I am usually an optimist about most things, but this kind of scares me, when I think about what this could lead to.

Ava and Samantha, you raised some good points. It could be a miracle to stop time for one specific person or area, but what if the equipment malfunctions and a person is stuck in time forever? And the military uses of this device are unbelievable, but could it be constitutional to forever trap our enemies in a beam of light? Also, so far the time cloak has only worked for 40 trillionths of a second, Is that long enough to do anything? It will be a long time before the time cloak is perfected, but luckily we have either until November, or until the year 7000, depending on who you ask. (Mayans or scientists)
