Nanotechnology sounds like a fascinating field to study, in particular developing medicines. When you think about how many cells we have in our body (50 trillion), think of all the medicines we will eventually develop.

The article on nanotechnology and diabetes is very interesting. My cousin is six years old and has Type 1 diabetes. He was diagnosed with diabetes when he was two years old. Every day he has to poke his fingers to test his blood and get insulin shots. I will tell him about the tattoos that use nanoparticles to sense the levels of glucose in your body. All you have to do is shine a light on the tattoo to find out how much glucose is in your blood, and there’s no more poking. Also, nanotechnology is used to build tiny pumps that deliver insulin. I think he will be very excited about it. I hope scientists can use nanotechnology to find a cure for diabetes.
