It would be wonderful if the new technology does work and animal testing is eliminated, but even if it does work, it will probably be some time before animal testing is completely replaced. It is so sad that so many animals are killed to produce all of the drugs and cosmetics that we have. It is so interesting that they are able to grow human skin cells, but I don't understand how they do it.

I hope that this is proven effective. It is so sad that tens of thousands of animals are killed every year just to test cosmetics! I am very glad that the European Union is banning animal testing by 2013! It is so much more humane! I also wonder if the human cells that they are growing look like an actual piece of skin. I also wonder if the human cells that are grown can be used for lipstick because aren't skin cells different that lip cells? Also, I wonder what kinds of animals are used for the animal testing. I wouldn't think that some animals skin reacts the same as ours to certian chemicals, so I wonder if they use different animals for different products.
